Meow Wolf

edit

Hello. I'm guessing from your user name and edit history that you're involved with Meow Wolf in some way. I like Meow Wolf a lot, but I had to remove a lot of the stuff you added (and put back the thing about the WolfPac). It's pretty common for articles like that to get deleted or trimmed down to a nub when they have a lot of improperly sourced content added to them. I think Meow Wolf is a good and significant organization which deserves a good article, so I preemptively cut it down to a more stable size. You added some good sources in there, but some of them aren't what's considered reliable sources. YouTube is almost never usable as a source, and when the only thing talking about an installation are press-releases, it looks way too promotional. I removed any mention of a project that didn't have a solid WP:SECONDARY source behind it.

I'm a fan of Meow Wolf, and have done some stuff with the group in the past. If you are also involved with the group, you should probably read about having a conflict of interest. The gist of it is that we should be very cautious, otherwise we're going to get banned from editing, and the article will certainly be the worse for it. Odd as it may seem, I actually really like this about Wikipedia, because I don't want to read an encyclopedia only written by fans. I spend a lot of time trying to make Wikipedia less promotional, so I would be a hypocrite if I didn't make an effort to apply the same policies here. I hope that makes sense.

If you need any help improving the article, I'm happy to do what I can, but the best place to discuss the Meow Wolf article is Talk:Meow Wolf. Grayfell (talk) 01:22, 29 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
