August 2022 edit

  Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages are strictly for discussing the topic of their associated main pages and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about unrelated topics. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks. - FlightTime (open channel) 18:56, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

How a request about an important issue of Ocean pollution (supposedly) caused by Cousteau is unrelated to his biography? please check the main article, the issue is there and sources should be questioned as said. Thanks. 177.190.70.251 (talk) 18:59, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to use talk pages for inappropriate discussion, as you did at Talk:Jacques Cousteau, you may be blocked from editing. - FlightTime (open channel) 19:02, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

  You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Talk:Jacques Cousteau. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. - FlightTime (open channel) 19:03, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
