April 2020 edit

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Fort Parker massacre—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 07:28, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

        • "American Indian" is actually the correct term to use despite your claim this was vandalism. Since "Native Americans" includes Polynesians/ Hawaiians--- as well as Eskimos and Aleutians, it is silly to say this massacre was done by "Native Americans". Plains Indians of the Kiowa, Comanche, Apache, etc are preferably called AMERICAN-Indians. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.115.10.30 (talk) 07:33, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
            • What is a "generally accepted term" in the first place? "Negro" used to be generally accepted. As already stated, the Fort Parker massacre was not done by "Native Americans" that is far too broad a term. It was done by American Indians. Otherwise why not just say the massacre was done by Homo Sapiens if it isn't important to be specific about which humans were involved? Politically correct "speak" is wrought with problems--- especially if the ability to be specific takes a back seat to all inclusive language and terminology. To anyone unfamiliar with North American indigenous peoples they might assume that Eskimos did the massacre unless the language is specific. Don't worry, American Indian tribes aren't ashamed to be know as American Indians as I am one of them. Crow nation in fact. Want to be even more specific then name the tribe, we appreciate that even more.
