Wikipedia doesn't allow corporate accounts, it is a volunteer-driven project

edit

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand why Wikipedia admins have considered this account to be for promotional purposes - I didn't think about how my username would be received. I am an avid fan of the artist and the artist's label and just wanted to make sure that other fans have an accurate, informational article on one of my favorite singers. I am not receiving any sort of compensation, nor has the artist nor label reached out to me to create this article. I will take the necessary steps to ensure that a mistake like this doesn't happen again. As it is the first article that I've ever contributed to Wikipedia, I am still learning a lot of the nuances of the community as a contributor. For the future, I will be dedicating myself to updating NIve's article as he continues to develop in his career as an artist/musician and potentially any other artists I find myself resonating with as much as I do with NIve. With all that being said, if there are more details regarding anything specific in the article that has been deemed as promotional instead of informational, I am more than happy to delete and revise as is necessary! However, if it was an issue of my username coming across as a promotional account for a business, I hope that the aforementioned reasons suffice in unblocking the contributions! Thank you.

Decline reason:

As per below, there's reason to doubt your claim and you will need to directly address this. Yamla (talk) 11:20, 16 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
The second comment is a question, asking if we have a "COI" -- "we" is clearly a company account. 126.32.51.59 (talk) 23:54, 15 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
