Generic Vanderbilt University IP address edit

Yes this is a generic IP address for Vanderbilt University. As far as I know the entire campus falls under this IP address.

Thanks for the edits edit

Why not pick out a username? Is this a generic Vanderbilt U. computer ISP, or are you a particular person?

This is odd. It is my own PC, with Vandy as an ISP (as I am a student), but I have never edited anything...these messages are baffling.

Welcome!

Hello! I'm a bot created by another Wikipedia editor. I wanted to let you know that I removed a link that you recently added to the page Hewitt School here. I did this because http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Hewitt-Times/177669978990631 is probably inappropriate for an encyclopedia.

We appreciate your help in making Wikipedia better for everyone. If I made a mistake, feel free to undo my edit. If you have any questions, you can ask at the Help desk.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article List of Phi Kappa Psi chapters and colonies, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Now for the non-boilerplate part of the message. Leaving a note in the edit summary that you are a Phi Psi, and therefore you know, does not qualify as a reliable source. I'm a Phi Psi too and I checked both the Vandy web site, and the Phi Psi web site. Neither has Tennessee Delta listed as an active chapter. If what you are saying is true, have fraternity staff update your chapter's listing. We'll then be able to cite that as evidence that Tennessee Delta is again an active chapter, and we'll change the article accordingly. Thanks, NYCRuss 18:27, 23 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
