email question edit

Hi. You emailed me the following question:

I would like to ask a few questions regarding my article. I have had two pictures deleted that are free public domain with the explanation that the pictures can be found on several Google sites. The subject in question has himself given public domain permission to both images. Do you have any suggestions of how to resolve this? My second question is regarding a newspaper article I found in hard copy. It is not available online in any digital form. How could I still reference it? I called the paper Corriere Fiorentina to ask them why I could not find an online link and they said that back then they had to pick and choose which article to post online from the hard copy printed paper. The article I am referencing which is an important feature article is and had never been made digital online. There is however the hard copy. Thank you for all of your suggestions.

It's easier for me to respond here than via email. Regarding the deletion of pictures, you should really ask the editor who deleted them. But just because something is on the internet does not mean that it is public domain. In fact, the vast majority of images on the internet are not public domain. You have to look for the license on the website where it is posted. Regarding the newspaper, it is perfectly okay to use sources not available online, but when you do, you must provide all relavent information. Look at WP:CIT to see everything needed and the format, but in a nutshell it's: paper name, page #, date, title, author, and the city of publication. Hope this helps. Yes in fact, I called the Club just now and they explained to me that the journalists in Italy that are invited by the Club to a game choose to send to the Club photos that were and were not published. The exchange for the invitation to the game is that the Club then owns the rights to those pictures. The Club's Media department as authorized the usage of the photo and they are looking through their archives to tell me exactly who took the picture. In this case, I am not referring to a picture that I took from online because it was there, but rather I received a cd of pictures I was authorized to use for the creation of this article. As soon as I hear back I will submit the proof of this authorization. Where do I send it once I receive it? Therefore there is no longer any doubts to whether the picture is free and of public domain. Thank you for your assistance once again. 11lionsd TT me 21:15, 28 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

The club has sent the email authorizing my usage of the pictures and odd Giles from their archive. They fortunately copied me on the email. Where could I send the email. [Ticket#: 2016030710012501]. 11lionsd (talk) 13:31, 15 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Mencucci edit

I have cleaned up and published the Sandro Mencucci article. Clearly meets WP:GNG requirements. I would highly recommend adding links to it from the respective club pages soon. I'd also recommend creating an article for the women's club. You can see other examples: here
