November 2023 edit

  Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from one or more pages to another page. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. For example: Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk pages of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, please add attribution retrospectively for that also, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. S0091 (talk) 19:46, 16 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Hwang-Long Pan edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Hwang-Long Pan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hello 葉娟礽 -- I've declined the above deletion request to give you a chance to address the concerns detailed above by MaxnaCarta with the draft. In addition to the advice they've given you about meeting WP:COMPOSER, there are other routes to demonstrating notability:
  • under WP:AUTHOR, for their two books, which would require multiple book reviews;
  • under the general notability guideline, which requires significant in-depth coverage of the person in multiple reliable sources (such as newspapers, journals, magazines or books) that are independent of the subject; these need not be online and need not be in English.
You can also ask for help at the Teahouse.
Hope this helps! Espresso Addict (talk) 09:08, 22 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • I've also commented on the draft:
"I think the subject might well be notable; a quick Ebsco search found JSTOR 23512136 which says "Hwang-Long Pan, a leading composer and music educator in Taiwan" with a source: Ji-Min Luo, Gujin xiangsheng yinyuemeng [古今相生音樂夢:書寫潘皇龍,Music Dream from Ancient to Modern: Writing Hwang-Long Pan] ( Taipei: Shibao chubanshe,時報文化出版社,2005), 274-298"
Espresso Addict (talk) 09:32, 22 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Dear Espresso Addict,
Thank you!
Hwang-Long Pan is a leading composer and music educator in Taiwan. There are many books, research papers, and encyclopedias about this composer.
Because he has indeed won many awards, curated international music festivals, and been active on stages around the world, his introduction seems to be full of positive and affirmative narratives. However, the writing of this encyclopedia did refer to many objective official published documents. After being reviewed by the traditional Chinese version of Wikipedia, it was translated into the English version.
As a newbie to Wikipedia, I really need your help. If the modified vocabulary needs improvement, I hope some kind seniors can help edit it to make it more in line with Wikipedia dictionary standards. Thank you very much! 葉娟礽 (talk) 07:13, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
