Swiatoslaw Trofimenko edit

Thank you for your note. Actually, neither Sviatoslaw Trofimenko nor Swiatoslaw Trofimenko is an article: both are redirects, which are basically search aids. It's actually very common to have redirects for alternate and incorrect spellings, because they're meant to help people who don't know how we normally spell the name. Right now, someone who thinks of him as "Sviatoslaw" will be able to find the article on scorpionate ligands, which will tell him that Trofimenko's name was spelt "Swiatoslaw"; if I were to delete the redirect, it would be harder for someone to find the article and the "Swiatoslaw" spelling. Finally, I'd like to mention a couple of procedural things:

  1. We only delete pages in accordance with our speedy deletion criteria, and none of the criteria match the reason that you gave.
  2. Redirects can be deleted after a deletion discussion; you can find instructions (and a place to post the discussion) at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion.

If you have any other questions or comments, please ask/tell me, and I'll do my best to help. Nyttend (talk) 17:38, 23 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
