Blocked

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for block evasion and sockpuppetry. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.  Talk  14:48, 30 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I think I've been mistaken for someone else, I can't think of anything I've done wrong. No discussion was opened and I've been blocked for no obvious reason. The blocking policy says Blocks are used to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, not to punish users. My edits are sound and I'm keen to improve Wikipedia. If I have unknowingly done something wrong, I'll make sure I won't do it again, but I honestly don't know why I've blocked, so I can't defend my position too much as I don't understand whats wrong.

Decline reason:

You created your account and within minutes were making contentious edits across many articles relating to a particularly bitter dispute on Wikipedia. The consensus is that Ireland should be called the Republic of Ireland as this properly refers to the country rather than the island Ireland, which contains both the Republic of Ireland and North Ireland. Jza is right that EditTors edits and yours dovetail nicely and have striking similarities. More important to me, though, is that you are obviously not a new user, having made some very savvy edits within the first few hours of having registered your account. So the block for sockpuppetry stands. Mangojuicetalk 02:14, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

The evidence is stark. Editors stopped editting at 12:32, 27 October 2008, edit warring with User:Setanta747. You started at 13:05, 27 October 2008, also edit warring with User:Setanta747. Your style is the same as the Wikipeire troll, therefore I do not want this account unblocked without a checkuser analysis first. --Jza84 |  Talk  00:00, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
