Hood is a vice chancellor of Oxford University.
Murchison Leadership White Peter Murchison.
It is named after Peter Murchison for his 11 years' loyal service in Westlake Boys High School. He has since gone into retirement.
Pupuke Landmark Blue Lake Pupuke.
The school is at the west of Lake Pupuke.
Smale Enterprise Green Bill Smale.
Smale is a successful property developer, local entrepreneur, and is an owner and director of Smales Farm Technology Office Park Next to Westlake Girls High School.
Stanley Sport Red Mike Stanley.
Stanley is a two time rowing world champion in 1982 and 1983. He was also the head rowing coach for the schools rowing squad.
Uruoto Culture Black A verbatim Māori translation of Westlake.

Cadet Medal for Bravery
 
Awarded for acts of bravery in hazardous circumstances. It is also given in recognition of outstanding deed of valour, involving risk of his or her life, in attempting to save the life or property of another person.[3]
Lord Strathcona Medal
 
Lord Strathcona Medal
Awarded for recognition of exemplary performance in physical and military training.[4]
Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Medal of Excellence
 
Recognizes individual endeavours of a citizenship nature which meet or enhance the aims and objectives of the cadet organizations.[5]
Colonel Robert Perron Award
 
Presented annually to the Cadet who attains the highest physical fitness test score.
Air Force Association of Canada Medal Awarded for excellence demonstrated on the Glider Pilot Scholarship (GPS) and the Power Pilot Scholarship (PPS). One medal shall be awarded to the top cadet, male or female, on both the GPS and the PPS at each of the five Cadet Flying Training Centres.[6]

Air Cadet Service Medal
 
Air Cadet Service Medal (Court Mounted)
Recognizes all air cadets who have completed four years of honourable service with no serious infractions. Single bars are awarded for each additional year.[8]
Cadet Certificate of Commendation Awarded for outstanding deeds in attempting to save the life or property of another person. This award is not part of the order of precedence.[9]
