Here are the basic principles I look for in Valued picture candidates. All these add up EV (Encyclopedic Value), which is my main critique of a VP. To obtain my support, the following must be met:

  • Meets the original VP criteria

Images

edit
  • Image is used in atleast 3 articles, one of them having it as the lead/infobox image
  • If the image is used in 3 articles only, the image must not be presented in a gallery for any of them.
  • Image has a good description in the file page and good captions in the article
  • Image is not obsolete by a better image, including a FP image.
  • Images of places include coordinates in the file page
  • Image must not display false color, over-saturation, or obvious manipulation

SVGs

edit

Diagrams

edit
  • Diagrams must be in SVG.
  • Diagrams must not have the legend implied, unless there is excessive space in which the legend won't interfere the diagram
  • Diagrams must have sources to verify reliability
