Corné Port Royal is a brand of Belgian chocolate, manufactured by the company Vanparys and sold in franchise.

History

edit

In 1932, Maurice Corné opened a chocolaterie specialised in praline in Brussels. The shop is nammed Corné Côte de France. In 1966, the brand bought another company Corné Barrière, founded in 1946 by Joseph Corné, the brother of Maurice[1].

In 1977, the company decided to implant itself in Istanbul and to sell the shops in Brussels. The Brussels shops are bought by another company, the Chocolaterie Mondose, other famous chocolatier, and are renamed Corné Port-Royal.

In 1990, the brand is sold one again and bought by the company Chocolats Vanparys, specialised in the manufacturing of pralines. Presently, the company owns 35 shops worldwide, mainly in Belgium and France.
