This is the user page for me, Zack Kressaty. I am from New Jersey, and I am a guitar player and a Music Business/Management major at Berklee College of Music.

My musical background and outlook edit

My musical background is a bit clichéd: it began with Richard Linklater’s 2003 film School of Rock. After an 8-year-old boy like myself sees a movie about children playing rock music, one can imagine that he wants to do so as well! To my stepfather's pleasure, I was hooked on Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and the like, which led to my first guitar on Christmas a few months later. After losing interest for a few years in favor of video games, I discovered an extracurricular program which, funnily enough, was also called School of Rock. Once I joined and made friends with similar interests, I picked up the axe again, at age 13, and haven’t stopped playing. Since high school, I’ve been in five rock/metal bands, with each one providing substantial experiences in performing, recording, and touring. Now that it’s been a few years, I have decided that music is what I want to do for the rest of my life. Therefore, I try to revolve my outlook around simply having fun with my music.

My music edit

The music that most involves me as a musician is metal, particularly modern/progressive metal. Two of the main reasons why metal is special to me are the passion that the artists have, and their unparalleled love for their fans; furthermore, metal has a very strong sense of diversity that is hard to find in other genres.
