Self Introduction edit

I am currently a student in Ischool in University of Pittsburgh, studying for master degree of information science. This is my first year in the program and I'm taking the social computing class. When it comes to social computing, I'm interested in several topics.

Topics edit

The first topic I'm interested in is the difference in contents of each topics in different languages. During my usage of wikipedia in the past few years, it occurs to me that, sometimes, content of articles changes when I change the language. Some languages' version contains more information than the others languages'. Also, opinions about the same object often convey different understandings in different language. I believe that each version of the same topic makes sense and I hope there would be a way to combine them together.
I'm also interested in the commercial use of social media like wikipedia. And this is not about how a social media can benefits its company but how others can use the social media to benefits themselves, mostly financially.
Now that there is financial issues, there will be privacy issues. It has always been a problem that we don't really know if our confidential information has been carefully preserved. I feel that I really need to figure this out. And there should be a way to tell one person if his or her article actually damage the interest of others.
