Inside the reading rooms are sculptures
Pictorial frescoes in the vestibule, executed in a rich color palette (by artist V. Khachatryan),

The semantic load is complemented by historical exhibits from the II-I centuries BC and the XVI-XVII centuries, placed in the side open galleries^[1]

The hill on which it is located offers an impressive view of Yerevan, and inside you can see ancient manuscripts^[2]

Die alten Manuskripte des Matenadaran enthalten wertvolles Material über alle Bereiche der damaligen Wissenschaften und Kunst, wie z. B. über Geschichte, Philosophie, Philologie, Theologie, Musik, Recht, Geographie, Mathematik, Astronomie und Medizin. Das älteste armenische historische Werk im Matenadaran ist eine Biographie über Mesrop Maštoc, die zwischen 443 und 449 von seinem Schüler Korjun geschrieben wurde. In ihr erfährt man Näheres über die Schaffung des armenischen Alphabets. Allein 31 Handschriften besitzt das Matenadaran von der Frühgeschichte der Armenier, die der Vater der armenischen Historiographie Movses Chorenaci im 5. Jahrhundert geschrieben hat. Außerdem befinden sich im Matenadaran armenische Übersetzungen von Schriften fremder Autoren. So besitzt das Matenadaran die armenischsprachige Chronik des Eusebius von Caesarea, der ein Zeitgenosse Konstantins des Großen war. Sie ist deshalb von besonderem Wert, weil das griechische Original verlorengegangen ist und nur diese armenische Übersetzung erhalten geblieben ist. Auch von einigen anderen Werken gibt es nur noch armenische Übersetzungen, die sich heute in der Eriwaner Sammlung befinden. Mehr als 850 Handschriften des Matenadaran befassen sich mit der Medizin.

The ancient manuscripts of Matenadaran contain valuable material on all areas of the sciences and arts of that time, such as history, philosophy, philology, theology, music, law, geography, mathematics, astronomy, and medicine. The oldest Armenian historical work in Matenadaran is a biography of Mesrop Maštoc, written between 443 and 449 by his student Korjun. In it, one learns more about the creation of the Armenian alphabet. Matenadaran possesses 31 manuscripts alone from the early history of the Armenians, written by the father of Armenian historiography, Movses Chorenaci, in the 5th century. Additionally, Matenadaran houses Armenian translations of works by foreign authors. For example, Matenadaran owns the Armenian-language chronicle of Eusebius of Caesarea, a contemporary of Constantine the Great. It is particularly valuable because the Greek original is lost, and only this Armenian translation has survived. There are also only Armenian translations available for some other works, which are now housed in the Eriwan collection. More than 850 manuscripts in Matenadaran are dedicated to medicine.^[5]
