StarCom Racing (SCR) is an American professional stock car racing team that currently competes in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

On September 25, 2017, StarCom Fiber, a New Jersey based telecommunications company, launched StarCom Racing after having an opportunity to begin their own NASCAR team. StarCom Racing would join as a new team in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. [1]

Car No. 00 history edit
On September 25, 2017, StarCom Racing announced it will hit the track as a new team in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. Selecting a highly respected driver - Derrike Cope to race StarCom's Chevy 00 car. The next day, StarCom's twitter reported the team will withdraw from the Apache Warrior 400 at Dover International Speedway to ensure a fully staffed quality crew.[2] On October 17, it was reported StarCom Racing will make its NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series debut at Kansas Speedway for the Hollywood Casino 400.[3]
At the time it was a completely new entry, consisting of veteran Derrike Cope as the driver and former crew chief Tony Furr atop the pit box. During their first attempt at Dover, the No. 00 missed the race due to not fielding a complete staff and being unable to qualify on time. The team would go on to miss races at North Carolina, and Alabama, while successfully debuting in the Hollywood Casino 400 in Kansas, starting 40th and finishing in 40th during the team's first race. Out of the full 267 laps at Kansas, Cope completed only 35 total laps.
