Esperanza Charter Changes

Wikizach, January 23 2006

Current Charter

The current Esperanza charter provides for an Administrator General, and an Advisory Committee, which consists of four members. This charter sets the goal of this WikiGroup to, "...be a place Wikipedians can turn to for hope, help, and reassurance..." 1.1 §. Many members believe that this needs to be defined much more, to have a specific goal, and that is where the amendment process comes in. It is required that if members of Esperanza cannot reach a general consensus within twenty-one days, then the Advisory Committee must organize a refferendum (in which members of Esperanza vote in).

Suggested Changes to the Charter

  • New Parliament Structure
    • New Voting System
      • Specific Goal

So, what does the Leadership think about this?

I asked Celestianpower háblame what do you feel about some suggested changes to the voting system?

In my opinion, voting isn't everything the election of a Leader/Advisory Council is but a means to an end for me, making this encyclopedia a nicer and less stressful place to be. As to the current voting system, I personally see nothing wrong with it. It's certainly the nicest and most all-inclusive system possible and caused much less stress and heartache than the rectent ArbCom ones. I see no need to change at this time.

I also asked in your personal opinion, how is the structure of Esperenza?

...well, I think it's the most workable system for our needs. A small leadership and plenty of member input...

For the amending of the charter, the process will start very soon. It is only a matter of time.
