Lead

  • Lead has been updated to add current content such as yearly enrollment and student aid
  • I would suggest having the lead include a sentence like “Spokane Falls Community College is a ____ located _____, with an annual enrollment of _____” just to give the reader a quick overall impression of the topic. I feel like talking about the history of the college being an army base is a little distracting in the lead and might fit in better in another category.
  • Similar to that, the increase in yearly enrollment is important, but I also think that that detail would have a better place in a difference section of the article. The lead should be concise and straight to the point. This is also a great place to briefly preview the other sections in the article.

Content

  • I like the content you added about student and community resources, however some details such as the hours of the facilities are probably not relevant to the article. Remember you are just giving information about the topic, not necessarily being a resource about campus hours.
  • Content is up to date, all sources retrieved from 2023 or earlier. Great job reflecting what is current on campus.
  • Transportation is interesting, but I feel like routes to campus might be information that belongs somewhere not on Wikipedia. I almost wonder if there is somewhere you could get information on the percentage of students who commute by car, bus, foot, cab, etc. That info might be more relevant.
  • In regard to equity gaps, you may be able to find good information about this in a database or something. You mentioned “the usual burdens of community college students”. Including some information about demographics could really add to your article.

Tone and Balance:

  • Sports and transportation are neutral, I would maybe look again at the tone for the resources section. Make sure that you are simply stating facts about the resources, and not promoting them.
  • One way you might be able to do this is to state how often and by who the facilities are used.
  • Since you are using the college itself as a source, you need to be especially careful about how you are rephrasing this on Wikipedia. While you may not feel like you are promoting the college, it may come off as that way to a reader. Remember it is ok to be more boring sounding. I think it is better to sound more academic than exciting/promotional on wiki.

Sources and References

  • All of the content is backed p by a reliable source.
  • The links are working well.
  • One thing I would say is that almost all of your info is from the college website. If you can, I might suggest diversifying your source list.

Organization

  • I would suggest breaking up your information into smaller paragraphs. I have noticed that this is fairly common on Wikipedia and makes it easier for readers to get the information that they are looking for as quickly as possible. Clear and concise is the way to go.
  • Adding more sections like “history” and “demographics” might be a great way to further organize the information. Don’t be afraid if there’s only a few sections in each.

Images and Media

  • There are a couple well-captioned images on the existing page. I would suggest keeping them!
  • One thing you could add is an image of a classroom or some sort of facility on campus if you can find on that is not protected by Copyright.
