Lakes of Savannah is a master-planned community in unincorporated Brazoria County, Texas. It is near Pearland and is slightly more than 2 miles (3.2 km) from Texas State Highway 288. It is south of Downtown Houston and the Texas Medical Center.[1]

History edit

The Friendswood Development Co. developed the subdivision. New sections of Lakes of Savannah opened in 2014.[1]

Education edit

The community is within the Alvin Independent School District (AISD). Students are zoned to Savannah Lakes Elementary School, Manvel Junior High School in Manvel, and Manvel High School in Manvel.[2] In 2010 all three schools received Gold Performance Acknowledgements from the Texas Education Agency (TEA).[3] Manvel Junior High, which first opened in 1970, received a new 168,000-square-foot (15,600 m2) campus in the Rodeo Palms area in 2012.[4]
