Wgbv died 10 December, 2006 in an accident.

William was not active on Wikipedia for the last several years. He started the article on his namesake, William Gannaway Brownlow; if this was a conflict of interest, it should also be noted that this was the only "vanity article" to ever open with a sentence such as this:

  • "William Gannaway Brownlow was probably one of Tennessee's most hated governors."[1]

"Brownlow, William Gannaway, V - age 27, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2006. William was an Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow. He was a graduate of McCallie School, where he was a avid and award winning crew member. He was a Page in the U.S. House of Representatives. William graduated from Georgetown University, where he majored in Computer Science. At Georgetown, he was stage manager of the theatrical troupe, Mask and Bauble and was photography editor of the Hoya. His pictures were also featured in USA Today. He was employed by WGBV.com where he contracted with the Department of Education to design, install and maintain the Federal Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) web site. He was a member of Men's Cotillion. He loved his wife, his family and his friends. William had a ready smile, a quick wit and an engaging personality. He was a true joy to all who knew him."
