Wael El Essawy (Arabic: وائل العيسوي) (Born June 1958) is an Egyptian Geologist and current International Drilling Fluids & Engineering Services (IDEC) Ltd.

Wael El Essawy graduated with a Bachelor of Special Geology, from Zagazig University in 1981. He worked for the international oil services companies, SLB, M-I Swaco, and QMax Solution from 1981 to 2020. In 2020 work as a Chief advisor for the African Drilling Fluids Board and in 2021 he became IDEC's Chief Executive Officer
