Mike Wells is the Systems Librarian and Lecturer for Steely Library at Northern Kentucky University. Mike holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Kent State University and is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to joining NKU, he served as the Director of Library and Information Technology at the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science (CCMS) and was the Manager of the Center for Information Management (CIM) at Miami University. Mike also enjoyed work in the corporate IT sector for over a decade as a programmer and systems administrator prior to work in libraries. Current research interests include implementing open source and low cost technologies in libraries and presenting on issues relating to “work/life” balance in librarianship. In his spare time, Mike enjoys golf, fishing, and running.
