CashKaro is a coupons and cashback website based in India. It provides discounts through coupons and cashback in a variety of categories, including electronics, clothes, home furnishings, beauty products, mobile recharge and so on. It was founded in 2013 by Rohan Bhargava and Swati Bhargava after they raised $750,000USD from Venture Capitalists. Headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana, Cashkaro.com has deals with over 800 retailers to provide coupons and cashback.

CashKaro was launched by Rohan Bhargava[2] and Swati Bhargava[3] in 2013.[4] Previously, they had established a cashback website in the UK known as PouringPound. They started CashKaro after raising a fund of $750,000USD from Venture Capitalists[5][6] in the UK[7] and moving to India. It is India’s only externally funded cashback website as of October 2015.

CashKaro introduced india's first cashback festival, the Great Online Cashback Festival (GOCF),[8] planned for October 2015.

Business Model edit

CashKaro works on an affiliate model and has approximately 800.[9] When users visit any affiliated site via CashKaro and make a purchase, CashKaro gets a commission. CashKaro pays a large part of this commission back to the customer.

The company is now planning to enlist about 50 global retailers which will enable it to serve its Indian customers in international markets as well.[10] It has recently partnered with Alibaba.com wholesale.[11]

CashKaro also runs a refer and earn program whereby users can earn from purchases made by new users they have referred.

Rewards edit

It reached Rs.15M in cashback paid to its customers in March 2014.[12][13] Up to August 2015, it has enabled sales worth Rs.3,500M in the retail sector in India and given a cashback of Rs.150M to its users.

It has driven sales of Rs.1,000M to its affiliates in 15 months.[14] In these 15 months company has generated cashback of Rs.30M to its users and expects this to reach Rs.350M in August 2015.[15]
