Floyd Morris was the lead singer, keyboardist and founding member of the electronic music group Staff Sergeant Moon. He was born in a middle-class German-American family and founded Staff Sergeant Moon in 2004 after serving in the Iraq War and being medically discharged. He was the frontman for Staff Sergeant Moon from formation until its disbandment in 2031. He released one solo album, Light In The Tunnel, in 2032 before retiring from music the next year. He died of a massive heart attack on May 13, 2054, while on vacation in North Bay, Ontario.

Early years edit

Morris was born as Henry Floyd Morris in Northeast Philadelphia to West German immigrants. He grew up learning both German and English and continued speaking both languages for life. He attended Frankford High School and stated in a later interview that, "[he] was an 'all As' student and very popular." He graduated in 1998 and went on to attend Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated in 2002. Morris served in the U.S. Army during the Iraq War and was deployed in April 2003. His performance was described as 'satisfactory' but was medically discharged after his platoon was attacked in the Babil Governorate of Iraq on July 6, 2003. Morris was shot in the left foot, and lost his fifth and fourth toe. Eleven other soldiers were wounded in the attack, while two were killed. A close friend of Morris, Staff Sergeant Jonathan Moon, died in the attack and later became the namesake of the band Morris would become the frontman of. Morris received the Purple Heart award for his service and returned home on July 31, 2003.
