I studied[1] for my MMath and PhD at the University of Nottingham between 2001 and 2009. My specialism was statistical mechanics, and was the subject of both my Master's dissertation and doctoral thesis.
I currently work as a mathematical modeller/software engineer for an engineering consultancy in Nottingham, where I apply my mathematics, improve my knowledge of C# and have unexpectedly gained an appreciation of the power of rubber duck debugging.
I am particularly interested in (continuous) stable distributions as they were a key part of my thesis, however I found no page on (discrete) stable distributions so am currently writing one here.
