The most challenging part of the COI request process is understanding first what is possible to accomplish, and second where and how to pose such a request. This explainer cannot hope to explain everything, but this FAQ will help you along the way.
The following is a list of common issues, with basic suggestions about where to begin with writing a request to ask for help about it. In almost every case, the actual likely outcome will depend on a handful of factors, primarily a) what relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines say about how to handle each certain types of information, and b) what reliable sources are available to verify the specific information. Sometimes these are not quite enough, and the final factor is: c) the opinion of the volunteer Wikipedia editor reviewing the situation, or consensus of multiple editors involved in the process. If you don't see your question addressed here, please leave a note on the Talk page, and one may be added.
