The definition of health has evolved over time. In keeping with the biomedical perspective, early definitions of health focused on the theme of the body's ability to function; health was seen as a state of normal function that could be disrupted from time to time by disease. An example of such a definition of health is: "a state characterized by anatomic, physiologic, and psychological integrity; ability to perform personally valued family, work, and community roles; ability to deal with physical, biologic, psychological, and social stress". Then, in 1948, in a radical departure from previous definitions, the World Health Organization (WHO) proposed a definition that aimed higher, linking health to well-being, in terms of "physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity". Although this definition was welcomed by some as being innovative, it was also criticized as being vague, excessively broad, and was not construed as measurable. For a long time it was set aside as an impractical ideal and most discussions of health returned to the practicality of the biomedical model.

Health is the level of functional and metabolic efficiency of a living organism. In humans it is the ability of individuals or communities to adapt and self-manage when facing physical, mental or social changes. The World Health Organization (WHO) defined health in its broader sense in its 1948 constitution as "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." This definition has been subject to controversy, in particular as lacking operational value, the ambiguity in developing cohesive health strategies, and because of the problem created by use of the word "complete". Other definitions have been proposed, among which a recent definition that correlates health and personal satisfaction.  Classification systems such as the WHO Family of International Classifications, including the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), are commonly used to define and measure the components of health.

An increasing number of studies and reports from different organizations and contexts examine the linkages between health and different factors, including lifestyles, environments, health care organization, and health policy – such as the 1974 Lalonde report from Canada;the Alameda County Study in California; and the series of World Health Reports of the World Health Organization, which focuses onglobal health issues including access to health care and improving public health outcomes, especially in developing countries.

Human Health

edit

Humans evolved to the rhythms of the natural light-dark cycle of day and night. artificial light at night can negatively affect human health, increasing risks for obesity, depression, sleep disorders, diabetes, breast cancer and more.[1]Human health

lic health actions, especially  and prevention, can do much to protect people from some of the impacts of climate change. Early action provides the largest health benefits. As threats increase, our ability to  to future changes may be limited.

Responding to climate change provides opportunities to improve human health and well-being across many sectors, including energy, agriculture, and transportation. Many of these strategies offer a variety of benefits, protecting people while combating climate change and providing other societal benefits.

Mexico's Drug cartel

edit

whether its the beheading or the hangings and tortures or mass executions, its all part of the war on drugs going on next door. the war on drugs going on next door has claimed nearly 100,000 from 2006-2015. Mexico's drug cartel has wrecked havoc on the community around it, the civilians who do not choose to take part in it have been killed. the drug sales in the U.S. have brought in around 19-29 billion dollars a year. The worlds largest illegal drug company supplies mostly all of the marijuana, cocaine and heroine shown up on the streets in the United States. The Sinola Federation is the worlds largest drug company, formally run by "El Chapo". It Controls nearly half of the drugs traded in the country. Earning annually around 3 Billion dollars. Guzman was imprisoned for 20 years where 8 years into that sentence he escaped and was on the run. When he escaped he was dedicated to the drug life. He was on the run for 10 years before he was captured again in 2014. Then he escaped again a year later through a hole in the shower of his cell block. he is being appointed in the united states for bring in hundreds of thousands of pounds of cocaine from 1999 to 2014.[3]

In the summer of 2005 a group called the Arellano Felix Organization, this organization is the most infamous Mexican drug company out there, were having a conversation about buying a yacht from California, when the DEA intercepted the conversation and had a lead on where they were going. They decided to buy a 43 foot yacht with the painting of a picture on the bow of the boat. When the DEA found the boat some how they managed to get on board the vessel and install a tracking device in order for them to track them on there way back from California with the boat. So he started watching them on his laptop. After the sale of the Dock Holiday the tracker placed on the boat showed the huge vessel hugging the cost of California around Baja California. The boat sometimes went out in to the Gulf Of California where the chief of the AFO liked to be because there was deep water and he loved deep sea fishing, so the DEA were convinced that it was Javier driving the boat. The DEA then launched and operation called Operation Shadow Game, the plan was to set up a boat at least 12 nautical miles of shore into international waters and wait for the boat to go out there that far. determine if there man was driving the vessel and intercept it at that point. For 6 weeks they sat out in the ocean in international waters waiting for the Dock Holiday, but it never showed up. On august 12 2006 operation shadow game came to a close. For the first time in a while the DEA stepped away from there laptop where the tracking of the boat was, but two days later at 8 am they got a phone call they couldn't deny. Javier was out on the boat according to the Florida-based Joint Inter-agency Task Force South, which was still monitoring the tracking device.  The Dock Holiday set sail out of Cabo San Lucas, the men on the boat were chasing marlin, accelerating in and out up to 19 miles of shore and back in to 10 then back out. The reason for the phone call was to figure out if the Coast Guard should go and board the boat if there was a opportunity. The DEA had deemed the operation an expensive failure and pulled its on-the-ground surveillance weeks earlier. Agents who had worked on the AFO case for years were being reassigned entirely. He figured he’d never have another chance to catch Javier outside of Mexico. Later that afternoon around lunch time at 13.1 nautical miles off Mexico, the Coast Guard had the opportunity that Herrod was waiting for and they boarded the Dock Holiday. Herrod waited at the office in San Diego, pacing back and forth, as the Coast Guard collected identification from those on board. After two hours, he got a message from the Coast guard: eight men and three boys on board. Later in the evening around dinner time about 5pm., photographs started coming in to Herrod.  The first two faces, those of the captain and a crewman, were unfamiliar. So were the kids on board. He was wondering to himself was he wrong, did he get the wrong boat and people.  Then came the fifth picture, and it took Herrod’s breath away: a mustachioed man in a pale-yellow Lactose shirt on white leather seats. This was “El Nalgón,” or “Big Ass”: Manuel Arturo Villarreal Heredia, the chief enforcer for the AFO. According to agents, he was known for his facility with knife-based torture. Then came the one picture they have been waiting for, the guys square jaw and thing gold chain matched the description of Javier and finally they have captured him. Javier's arrest would go down in history as the longest active case in the DEA's history. Next time you think about doing something illegal just remember Herrod, hell catch you. [4]
