Hello, My name Is… edit
My name is Victoria and I am currently a student at Georgia Southern University. I am a double major in Political Science and International Studies with a minor in Spanish. Upon receiving my bachelor’s of science degree, I plan to attend the University of Southern California for law school. I would like to specialize in either Entertainment Law or International Affairs. I would like to work for a national sports franchise or the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

About Me edit
A few of my personal interest include reading and writing. I have always enjoyed learning about our national government, and that is why I chose Political Science. In high school, I was an honor roll student all four years. My GPA stood strong at 3.8. I graduated from Collins Hill High School in May of 2010 with honors. While in high school, I was a very active student. I was a member of the Beta Club, Spanish Club, Distributive Education Clubs of America {DECA}, Student Government and many more. In most of my extracurricular activities, I held officer positions. Not only was I a very involved student at school, but also in my community. I participated in many programs that helped to prepare me for college. I was a Delta Gem and we did many workshops that I found would be useful for my future. I was also a debutante with the Gwinnett County Alumni Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. I also was a peer leader; I mentored students at my school and the local elementary and middle schools. I was involved in various activities that always kept me busy.
Awards & Honors edit
I found all my activities very rewarding. During my freshman year of high school, I received an award for perfect attendance. I also received various academic outstanding achievement awards in the areas of marketing and Spanish. On my wall of awards, I also have plaques for lettering in academics. To qualify for a letter in academics, a 90% overall average or better is required. I was also recognized by our national government for my outstanding academic excellence and community involvement. I am currently one of the Congressional Youth Leaders for the state of Georgia. I recently received the outstanding writing award for Delta Gems in May, 2010.
Scholarships edit
Because of my academic excellence throughout high school, I was awarded the opportunity to attend college. I choose Georgia Southern University because I felt as though it is a perfect fit. One of the many reasons for choosing of Georgia Southern is it offers diversity and many fields of study to choose from. Also, the HOPE Scholarship would pay for most of my collegiate expenses. Not only did I receive the HOPE Scholarship, but a scholarship from Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Gwinnett County Pearls of Service Foundation. I was also offered many other scholarships from other colleges, but none compared to Georgia Southern.
My Wikipedia Philosophy edit
Throughout my high school career and the early stages of my college career the Internet has been a main component to my success. In today’s world, technology surrounds us and it’s essential for everyday life. When doing research for school, I would often use Wikipedia, because I felt as if it were a good source. I also loved the fact that if you saw incorrect information or wanted to add to an article, you could do so by creating an account. I also like that if there isn’t a topic on Wikipedia that you’re searching for, you can upload to the website, and it will only stay if it’s seen as notable. My only complaint about Wikipedia is that you can’t use original research as a source, when citing articles. Wikipedia has been a key component to my past academic successes. I plan to continue using Wikipedia, as well as contributing to the website by publishing requested articles. I have made a few minor grammar corrections to articles. I am also in the progress of composing an article on the national mentoring program Girl Talk Inc.
