Timothy J. Cox edit

Timothy J. Cox is a National Security Space Advocate and a retired United States Air Force lieutenant colonel currently working in the aerospace industry. He is a member of the editorial board of Space Force Journal, the Independent Forum of the Space Force.

Cox has operational experience with missile and space systems, as a Minuteman III launch officer, and as a space situational awareness and counter space officer. He served as Chief of the Space Control Division on the Air Staff and as Chief, Commander's Action Group, for the Combined Force Air Component Commander of the United States Central Command Southwest Asia. He later stood-up the nation's first Air Force Health Professions Recruiting Squadron as Commander, 318th Recruiting Squadron, Air Force Recruiting Service before becoming the Deputy Chief of Staff for the United States Air Forces Central Command and the Combined Force Air Component Commander.

Cox is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento and was commissioned in 1993 via the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. He later completed a Master of Space Studies degree at the American Military University in 2007 and a Certificate on College Teaching in 2016.
