Santiago de Liniers (July 25, 1753 – June 12, 1827) was a French officer in the Spanish military service, and a viceroy of the Spanish colonies of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata. Although born "Jacques de Liniers" in France, he is more widely known by the Spanish form of his name, "Santiago de Liniers".

He took part in the British invasion of the Río de la Plata in the side of the Viceroyalty, but failed to defeat the British. He then fled Buenos Aires along with a number of other people like Juan Martín de Pueyrredón, Martín de Álzaga and Manuel Belgrano. Upon arrival to Córdoba, and with support of many political figures, he deposed Viceroy Rafael de Sobremonte and was named Viceroy himself by the Córdoba Cabildo.

During the South American Wars of Independence, Liniers kept a balanced stance between the Independentistas and the Royalists, supporting a greater autonomy within the Empire until the end of the Wars of Independence in 1819. Upon pressure of the Independentistas, he resigned as Viceroy and allowed the Cabildo to take power, beginning the Republic of Cordoba. He died in Mendoza in 1827 at the age of 74 years.
