Wartortle
Pokémon series character
First gamePokémon Red and Blue

Wartortle, also known as カメール Kameil in Japan,is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Created by Ken Sugimori, Wartortle first appeared in the video games Pokémon Red and Blue and subsequent sequels, later appearing in various merchandise, spinoff titles and animated and printed adaptations of the franchise. Wartortle controls it's wave-like ears and tail to help balance itself while swimming. The tail of a Wartortle becomes darker in color as the Pokemon ages, which is why this Pokemon is held as a symbol of longevity and highly revered by elder people in the Pokemon world.[1] [2] [3]

Squirtle is a starter Pokémon the player can choose from at the beginning of Pokémon Red and Blue, and their remakes, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. In the anime Pokémon (anime), Gary Oak chooses a Squirtle as his starter pokemon and evolves it to a Wartortle, then into a Blastoise. In Pokemon Diamond and Pearl May obtained a Squirtle from Professor Oak when her, Ash, and Brock all visited Ash's hometown, Pallet Town.[4] [5] [6]

Wartortle are exceptionally loyal to their trainers. They are more aggressive than their pre-evolved form and are predatory pokemon. They lurk under water to stalk their prey and, when in pursuit, use their specialized ears and tail to maintain balance and speed. They are a symbol of longevity making them favorites among the elderly.[7] [8] [9]
