This section of your article should be a summary and overview of the whole article. It should start with a sentence or two that answers the following questions: What is the topic of this article? What person or people are most relevant to this topic? Where is the topic located? What time period was your topic alive or relevant? What is the single most notable thing about your topic? Leslie County, founded in 1878, and named for Preston H. Leslie, Governor of Kentucky (1871-1875),[1] is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of 2010, the population was 11,310. Its county seat is Hyden[2]. Leslie is a prohibition or dry county.

According to the 2000 census, the county has a total area of 404.36 square miles (1,047.3 km2), of which 404.03 square miles (1,046.4 km2) (or 99.92%) is land and 0.33 square miles (0.85 km2) (or 0.08%) is water.[3]
