The 2013-14 Welcome International Cup (or International Welcome Cup) was the first season of the Club World Cup organized for Hattrick-rookies or for HT-managers who have recently re-joined this game with their new teams. The competition started on 16 December 2013, and it unofficially took place in Malaysia, because the organizer was Marquinho82, the manager of AC Spondinig. The final was played at Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur. The home team Spondinig won by defeating the italian team ZB Hannover 96 7-5 with 3 goals in the second half, after an exciting first half which ended 4-4.

Teams edit

16 teams of five confederations took part in this competition. The manager Matt86Zure who guides ZB Hannover 96 requested the double flag near his team because of the origins of most of its players.

  • It has not been a wonderful draw for south american teams. Both has been inserted in the group of the host. The men of AC Spondinig start to excite the fans in their Hirsch Stadium, with a great win against El Retorno de la Magia (3-0). There is a great start also for The Krabbers who defeat Poder Animal: in the first minutes Chileans fail a penalty with their best player Sanhueza and then capitulate 1-3. Poder Animal have another great chance in their 2nd match, when they quickly take the lead against Spondinig, but the forward Nikolaus Fasching drag Malaysians to overtake their rivals, scoring two decisive goals. This means that Marquinho's team has a place in the best eight, while Poder Animal are thrown out of the competition together with their argentine collagues, who suffer other 3 goals from The Krabbers: 2 goals are scored by the leader Thomas Schütte and the final result put Belgians in the quarter-finals. The Krabbers could confirm the 1st place with a draw against Spondinig but, in the last matchday of the group, Niko Fasching enchants the crowd again, he scores 4 goals and the hosts win the group. The south american derby is widely won by Poder Animal (4-0): El Retorno is the only team which ends this tournament without signing any goal.

  • It is immediately evident that the boys of Werder Revenge have to work hard to reach the level of the other teams. In the first match, in Pahang, ZB Hannover 96 overwhelm the Kenyans with 6 goals. In the meantime, an hard-fought challenge takes place in Sarawak: Wababe wa Karne take the lead after few minutes, but El Guaro make the difference in the second half and they win 3-2. The next monday Guaro have to face Hannover: the italian and oceanian team goes forward with Ogilvy and Thomson, but they loses Jaigopal Mondal who receives the only red card of this group stage. Guaro take advantage of the situation in the second half, when they equalize with 2 goals of their captain Emiler Gamboa. Wababe wa Karne easily win the african derby and all verdicts are sent to the last matchday. Hannover 96 with a great second half obtain another win against the Tanzanians (4-2), and this result gives a qualification chance to El Guaro. Werder Revenge are able to sign their first goal in Perak, but the central american team overflows the opponents (4-1) and obtains the second place in the group.

  • Bubbini have dominated the group even if they started with handicap all their three matches. Michalis Doropoulos and Christoforos Manousos are the main scorers. F.C. BM and Red Bull Orlando fight for the second place, while Rokhea Jokkue try to get at least a single point. The Finnish team collapses against the Hungarians (0-7). In the second match Rokhea are close to equalize against Red Bull, which are more cynical in the last minute. BM and Red Bull are both defeated by the Greeks, but the Hungarians can take advantage of the goal difference in a dramatic last match against the Americans: after 60 minutes Orlando leads 3-1, but a great performance of Kende Pozsár reverses the situation. The only draw of the group stage is enough for BM to take the ticket for the quarter-finals. Bubbini comeback from 0-2 to 3-2 to defeat Rokhea Jokkue and confirm the first place: they have also the best attack of all groups with 14 goals.

  • Tõnu Raja, Estonian defender with wonderful skills on set pieces, has a great start in the first match of A.C. Fa in Negeri Sembilan. Raja scores an hattrick against RKS Chuwdu and his team wins 4-1. ACF repeat the exploit in the second match against Batan Gemi and with 5 goals get the pass for the quarter-finals. Also the Iranian team Nedaja can celebrate the qualification after 2 matchdays: Jimmy Lister signs the first goal of the competition which is enough to defeat the Turks, then Nedaja win 2-1 a bloody battle with Chuwdu and eliminate the Poles. On 30 December the challenge for the first place occurs in Pahang, where Nedaja surprisingly overwhelm A.C. Fa 5-0, Lister is the protagonist again; the third place belongs to Batan Gemi after they have defeated Chuwdu 4-1.
