Virtual work Virtual work describes the growing phenomenon of interpersonal, technology based connectivity in organizational structures. Contemporary organizations are now dislocated, virtual and geographically dispersed. The traditional structural work paradigm is characterized by face-to-face work with robust physically-present task and social interactions; this structure is rapidly surrendering to a more disjointed, rarely physically present, internet-based connected structure. This new work paradigm relies less upon physicality, but with a greater reliance on connectivity.[1]
