Canola is a media center application for Maemo, specifically on Nokia Tablets.[1] Canola can play both local media, and remote media through the DAAP and UPnP protocols. It can also access other remote media like podcasts, and media services like YouTube and Flickr.
In March 2009, the software license was changed from proprietary to Free Software[2].
User interface
editCanola uses a custom fullscreen UI-design that differs radically from Maemo's own UI and focuses on touchscreen finger input.
Themes
editCanola's theme engine is based on Edje from the EFL project.
Plugins
editCurrently, a Last.fm plug-in and a YouTube viewing plugin are available for download.
