Omuthiya Hospital

The newly constructed Omuthiya District Hospital in the Oshikoto Region is already falling apart although it has not been used for many months. The construction was started in 2009 and was completed in 2011, but the hospital has not been up to standard. Residents complain that omuthiya hospital is taking long; they still have to go to hospitals at Onandjokwe and Oshakati. Omuthiya hospital was built by Chinese Constructor Company but it is not up to standard, due to the following problem:

1. The ceilings are falling apart in the newly built
2. Many street lamps outside the building are not functioning, as their bulbs have fallen out.
3. The main gate to the hospital is falling apart, and the perimeter fence has been vandalised in several places.
4. The toilets are overflowing with sewage.
