Article body edit

The article Fails to mention that there are certain fitness requirements that must be upheld and passed, both before joining and while you are in the program.

For the Article:

During a normal school year, Navy ROTC Midshipman must take at least one official Physical Readiness Test (PRT) The minimum requirements for the test include 47 Push-Ups without resting in 2 minutes, at least a 2:05 Plank without rest, and at least a 12:00 1.5 Mile Run. Depending on your age, the requirements for the test are subject to change. Midshipmen are encouraged to score as high as possible during the tests to increase their FITREP scores amongst each other. [1] If Midshipmen fail to complete the minimum requirements for the PRT test, they will be automatically enrolled in the Fitness Enhancement Program (FEP), requiring that they conduct extra physical training within the unit outside of normal hours. There will be a select number of "Inventory" PRT tests throughout the semester that are identical to an official PRT, but your scores do not go on your FITREP as they are simply to judge your progress over the year. FACT #2

NROTC requires that you graduate in 4 years, but one note is that some "Tier 1" Majors have a special exception to this rule and are allowed to take a 5th year. Most notably is mechanical engineering. ["Most notably" is a judgement call and the sentence is not quite there grammatically. How about "Mechanical engineering is a Tier 1 major"?

For the Article:

NROTC designates all college majors into a 3-tier system, putting the advanced engineering majors in the Tier-1 category, most other majors into Tier-2, and majors with simpler degree completion requirements into the Tier-3 section. Applicants in Tier-1 and 2 majors are more competitive for obtaining scholarships versus those in Tier-3. Due to the extra difficulty of some STEM majors such as mechanical engineering, it is possible for some units to waive the 4-year graduation requirement and extend it by a year due to the extra work required. Added citation in regard to the Stipend Students receive while in the program as the article was missing it.

From the article ---> As of 2020, the stipend was $250 per month for first-year Midshipmen, with a $50 increase each year after that (i.e. $300/month for sophomores, and so on).
