About me

edit

Now retired from providing computing facilties to a scientific laboratory, my hobbies are music typesetting, singing and budgerigar genetics. In the 1980's I helped to establish the true nature of the Lacewing as a Cinnamon-Ino by showing that the linkage between them is very tight, and showing that a Cinnamon-Ino does, in fact, exhibit faint wing marking.

My wiki plans

edit

I intend to add pages which cover the first appearance of budgerigar colour mutations. This information will be taken from a number of sources which reported new mutations in the 1930's and later, including the Budgerigar Bulletin and Cage and Aviary Birds.

The details will include a detailed description of the mutation's effect on the bird's visual appearance, historical notes covering its first appearance and establishment, and a brief outline of the genetics.

This will supplement and build on the more genetically-oriented pages in the Budgerigar_colour_genetics article.

Here is a test page for /The Budgerigar Dark Mutation to show the layout.
