deputy Kożuchowscy – a Polish noble family with the coat of arms of Doliwa, which took its surname from Kożuchów in the Czersk Region, well-known since the 15th century, several times granted privileges from the Masovian Piasts[1].
During the First Polish Republic, representatives of this family, belonging to the middle-class nobility, held numerous land offices and took an active part in the political life of the country. They were among the electors of kings Jan Kazimierz, Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki, Jan III Sobieski and August II the Strong. With time, they also settled in other districts of the country, ie in the Vilnius Region, Volhynia and Podolia, where they identified themselves as Old Polish nobility after the partitions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth[2].
