O'REAL is a monthly bi-lingual nightlife magazine in Fukuoka, Japan. Established by Tom Brooke and Tomoko Yoshioka and published monthly since January 2009. The magazine was initially called O'yafko Real and later shortened to O'REAL on it's first anniversary.
The magazine, website and mobile website all serve to re-energise the local Fukuoka nightlife scene, which since its boom time in the 1980's has dwindled in popularity. In recent years there has been somewhat of a creative renaissance in the city and local acts are becoming recognised nationally and internationally.
O'REAL initially focused on the Oyafukou-dori and Nishi-dori areas of Fukuoka and was supported mainly by independently owned bars and clubs. Since the name change in January 2010 the magazine has broadened it's target slightly to encompass the entire Chuo-ku area of the city.
