PublicNTP (PNTP) is a network time non-profit organization headquartered in Washington D.C.[1] PublicNTP provides no-cost time sources for the public good and partners with other network time organizations, including the Network Time Foundation.[2] PublicNTP currently runs NTP servers through South America, Africa, and

In February 2008, Terry Ott launched two NTP servers in Chicago, Illinois, and another server in the San Francisco, California area.[3] This project evolved and led to the development and founding of PublicNTP as a 501(c)(3) in 2017 with Scott Waddell as a co-founder.

Time Server Mobile App edit

In December 2018, PublicNTP released the Time Server[4] Android app to the Google Play Store.[5] The app enables any rooted Android device to run as an NTP time server and the implementation was also released as an open source project on GitHub.[6]
