Here I am. I'm a UK-Based Radio Spectrum Manager with practical experience of MPT1327 trunking (frequency planning and network design) and also an ex-member of the ETSI DIIS Working Group (direct ancestor to DMR and dPMR). An advocate of the right tool for the job, I'm not particularly keen on deploying TETRA where there are cheaper and more capable alternatives. I am fully expecting DMR/dPMR to start to replace both MPT1327 and TETRA in non-Government markets some time before the end of 2012. Knowing who developed the Tier 3 DMR/dPMR specs, I know it is going to be a capable alternative to MPT1327, which is more than I can say for the current crop of "Trunking" systems available for DMR/dPMR. --TiredAndConfused (talk) 10:52, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
