Dominion Day Regatta Association (DDRA)
This association's mandate is to run the Canada Day Regatta (formerly Dominion Day Regatta) which traditionally takes place on the Allan A. Lamport Regatta Course [1] at the Toronto Islands in Canada. The association's regatta is one of the oldest and largest combined rowing and paddling regattas in the world. It held its first regatta in 1884, and continues annually to the present. It held a special 125th anniversary regatta in 2009 for which a commemorative video is in post-production. In 2002, the third sport of dragon boating was added to the program.
The event is sanctioned by Canoe Kayak Canada for the canoe and kayak races, and Row Ontario for the rowing races. The dragon boat races are now organized by the OPS Dragon Boat Club [2].
