Kuhn Holding, headquartered in Eugendorf near Salzburg, is an Austrian family business.

Günter Kuhn founded the company "Kuhn Baumaschinen" in 1973 in Eugendorf near Salzburg. In 1986, "Kuhn Ladetechnik" was founded, and the general agency for Palfinger-cranes and Mitsubishi-forklift trucks was taken over. With Kuhn KFT in Budapest, the first foreign branch was founded in 1990. This was followed in 1994 by Takeover of the general agency for Komatsu Limited.
In 2012, Kuhn took over Emco, a machine tool manufacturer from the insolvent A-Tec Industries.[2]

The company is divided into the strategic areas of construction machinery, loading technology and machine tool production. All three divisions are organisationally and operationally independent of each other and are organised both in Austria and internationally by separate companies under the umbrella of Kuhn Holding GmbH. With foreign subsidiaries in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Poland, Switzerland and Germany, the company serves the construction, transport, warehousing and logistics industries. The Group's turnover was 649 million euros from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019.[1] Kuhn Holding operates 53 branches and six production sites and employs around 1600 people. In 2022, 80 apprentices were undergoing training at Kuhn.[3]
The twin brothers Andreas and Stefan Kuhn have been managing the fortunes of the family-run Kuhn Holding in the second generation since 2001.[4]
The Swiss division of construction machinery manufacturer Kuhn has revolutionised the mining truck segment. A diesel-powered dumper truck has been converted into a battery-powered dumper truck. The „eDumper“ is the largest electric vehicle in the world and is used in a quarry on the outskirts of Biel in Switzerland. The use of batteries as an energy source means that around 50,000 tonnes of diesel saved.[5]
Salzburg AG installed a photovoltaic system on the roof of the Kuhn headquarters in Eugendorf near Salzburg. Since then, 60 photovoltaic panels have been generating 18,000 kWh of electricity per year. At the Himberg site in Lower Austria, the company realised a 119 kWp photovoltaic system in cooperation with Salzburg AG. Photovoltaic systems will also be installed at the Kuhn Group's other branches in Austria and abroad.[6]
With the acquisition of a company in Bucharest at the beginning of 2022, Kuhn Holding also became active in Romania.[7]
