Akem Manah is an doom metal band from Seattle, Washington.

Band history

Akem Manah is a doom metal band from Seattle, WA. The band formed in Eugene, OR in May 2009 by former Crypt band mates Dead Nedry (vocals & guitar) and Kyle Simms (bass). They brought on friends Mike Bonnetti (lead guitar) and Brian Murray (drums) to round out the line up. They spent the first few months writing songs and recorded their first demo "Akem Manah" in August '09. They would go on to perform throughout the local Eugene clubs. Soon though Dead Nedry left after taking a job in Seattle. The band was unable to find a suitable sing to replace Nedry and split in October.

After a the brief the split, the band regrouped with minus bassist Kyle Simms in December '09. They hired bassist Juan Medesa, though that only lasted about a month. They then hired now current bass player Robert Ingraham (bass).

In January 2010 the new line-up went on to record their 2nd demo "The Devil". After the recording of the new demo, the band let go guitarist Mike Bonnetti. Stating that his performances and writing has dropped enormously. The band would then record a new demo in February. This new demo labeled "The Devil 2" was a re-recording of the original Devil demo plus one redone song from the very first demo. The new demo would showcase the current line-up with Dead Nedry on all guitar duties.

Immediately after the demo was done, they jumped into the studio to record the debut album "The Devil Is In All Of You". The album was produced by Dead Nedry and released under Dead Nedry's own Freak Metal Records label. "The Devil Is In All Of You" is currently planned for an April/May 2010 release.
