The Gemidão do Zap, also known as Gemidão do WhatsApp or just by Gemidão, is a prank that became popular in virtual environments in Brazil from the second half of the 2010s. The phenomenon involves the production of videos and audios transmitted by social networks like WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter that had, at some point, the voice of a woman having an orgasm. The comic effect of the surprise resided in the inequality of volume given to the groan, which caused the embarrassment of people who watched or listened to the content without headphones in public and private places.
The phenomenon involved different social classes, being frequent among public figures in the political environment and in the communication media, the target of jokes and also criticism. Later, it was discovered that Zap's moan was taken from an American pornographic film starring actress Alexis Texas.

The first cases of dissemination of Gemidão Do Zap occurred in mid-2016 and 2017. Initially, the phenomenon was described around outrageous situations involving public figures. In 2016, while Senator Cássio Cunha Lima was giving a speech during the vote on the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff, a device played the audio. The phenomenon involved the production of videos and audio transmitted by the social network WhatsApp, as well as other networks such as Facebook and Twitter. The audios had, at some point, the voice of a woman having an orgasm. The surprise focused on the difference in the volume given to the groan, which caused the discomfort of people who watched or listened to the content without headphones in public places, such as inside collective buses.
