Wikiproject Military history coordinator election nominations open
Nominations for the upcoming project coordinator election are now open. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes. They do not, however, have any authority over article content or editor conduct, or any other special powers. More information on being a coordinator is available here. If you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 UTC on 14 September! Voting doesn't commence until 15 September. Who? What? The Stone Sky
So I'm reading along and hit:
- The comm reaches Rennanis after a costly desert crossing, ...
Who? What? Nowhere else do these terms have any mention.
I look back in history and find Motor-bureau's expansion of Plot and see this state. Mentions of both 'comm' and 'Rennanis'. Not revealing mentions, but maybe 'comm' is a committee and Rennanis is a place?

WikiCup 2018 September newsletter
The fourth round of the 2018 WikiCup has now come to an end. The eight users who made it to the final round had to score a minimum of 422 points to qualify, with the top score in the round being 4869 points. The leaders in round 4 were:
Courcelles scored a magnificent 4869 points, with 92 good articles on Olympics-related themes. Courcelles' bonus points alone exceeded the total score of any of the other contestants!
Kees08 was second with 1155 points, including a high-scoring featured article for Neil Armstrong, two good topics and some Olympics-related good articles.
Cas Liber, with 1066 points, was in third place this round, with two featured articles and a good article, all on natural history topics.- Other contestants who qualified for the final round were
Nova Crystallis, 
Iazyges, 
SounderBruce, 
Kosack and 
Ceranthor.
During round four, 6 featured articles and 164 good articles were promoted by WikiCup contestants, 13 articles were included in good topics and 143 good article reviews were performed. There were also 10 "in the news" contributions on the main page and 53 "did you knows". Congratulations to all who participated! It was a generally high-scoring and productive round and I think we can expect a highly competitive finish to the competition.
Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 4 but before the start of round 5 can be claimed in round 5. Remember too that you must claim your points within 10 days of "earning" them. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. It would be helpful if this list could be cleared of any items no longer relevant. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! Proposed deletion of List of commanding officers of USS Nevada (BB-36)
The article List of commanding officers of USS Nevada (BB-36) has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

- The two pages may have similar titles, but that is where the similarity ends. The Nevada page was just a very basic list, and even then, only 5 of her 26 COs have BLPs, and those five are already noted and linked on USS Nevada (BB-36). The Oklahona page is more comprehensive (prose, images, detailed table... closer to an article), and further to that, 9 of her 22 COs have BLPs.
I'm not even sure how many are noted onOnly 2 of the 9 are noted on USS Oklahoma (BB-37),(I haven't checked yet), butso that would almost certainly have to be addressed first, as consensus seems to continually favor having notable officers added to their ship article's prose as opposed to just listing them all somewhere. Beyond that, the deletion of that page would most likely involve more than a simple PROD'ing, (ie: perhaps an RfC at wt:ships or milhist). But I haven't gotten around to that yet. I know you created the Nevada page and I also realize that people don't typically like having pages tbey've created deleted, but I would ask; why create a list of COs for just that ship, and not all the others? - I see you removed the tag... after 61/2 days. Before the page can be deleted, 7 days is required, so one might think of that as gaming the system. No one has said anything about this deletion since the tag was added. You suddenly feel a consensus is required for this and want to have a discussion, but I don't see where you've started one. This may not be a list "within" the main article, but that is really just a technicality. Calling this an article is being generous. There is barely any content. As I said above, only 5 of the officers listed are notable enough for BLPs and they are already mentioned and linked in the main article. Other than a bare list of either redundant or non-notable names, there is no other content. You haven't touched this page since you created it 10 years ago, and only a handful of others have made minor edits since. So what is there to discuss? - Whoa bud, where's the bad faith coming from? There's no need to personalize this. I'm not disagreeing that this might not need to be an article, but based on this, the general concept of lists of commanding officers needs more discussion (IMHO). - I'm a prod patroller and checked out this one because it was clearly inappropriate as there's an obvious alternative to deletion: merger into the main article about the ship. I wasn't sufficiently interested to take action but easily have done so. Per WP:PROD, the process is only for uncontroversial deletions and so can be contested for any reason and at any time -- even after the 7 days -- see WP:REFUND. Andrew D.
