User:The Anome/Disused and heritage UK railway stations still lacking coordinates

This is a list of disused and heritage UK railway stations still lacking coordinates as of 2012. It's based on this catscan for disused stations and this catscan for "heritage" stations.

Town/village name searches of the 1940's-era maps at http://www.npemap.org.uk/ often find the station. Right clicking on it reveals the 6 figure eastings & northings. Some articles have external links to npemap. There is a partial coverage by earlier OS maps with more stations marked eg http://www.ponies.me.uk/maps/osmap.html?z=14&x=-1.1815&y=53.4906 (accessible via the 'Older OS maps' link on Geohack - moving the transparency slider towards 100 removes the overlay); these maps give lat/long directly.

Other possible resources providing pointers to geocoords include

Notes:

  • the struck-out entries have now been geocoded, in most cases by using the data from this page, or ocassionally by another means.
  • articles with OS National Grid {{oscoor}} templates already present in the article body have also been struck out. They will be geocoded with lat/long values automatically soon, so there's no need to do these here.

See also User:The Anome/Yet more railway stations to geocode. Pending: processing the stations listed at List of closed railway stations in Britain, which lists many stations not yet assigned to either of the "disused" or "heritage" categories, which have thus escaped listing here.

Cases that do not currently need geocoding edit

If an article does not need geocoding, please leave it listed below. This will stop the bot from repeatedly adding it to the "Pending" list at the end of the article.

Pages to be excluded edit

These are non-stations that need to be ignored by the bot.

Pre-1900s stations edit

The following station was closed prior to 1900, and may need more detailed research to locate.
