I am an American now living in North Carolina. My mother was a British war-bride from Arrington a village near Royston, Hertfordshire; my father an American soldier from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, serving as an aircraft mechanic at Bassingbourn Camp during WW II.

I joined Wikipedia in 2006. History is a life-long hobby of mine, especially American and British political history, the lives of British Prime Ministers and American Presidents and the histories of religion and science. My interest is in "origins": where things came from. Although I have yet to discover the definite origins of anything, I'm learning a lot and having fun trying.
