The name of the podcast comes from John Wards famous touchdown line, Give..Him..6! The podcast opens with a clip of the Pride of the Southland marching band's Rocky Top that has a voiceover of John Ward with the famous Give Him 6 line in the background. After they talk, it is said, The Give Him 6 Podcast is always scorin' touchdowns.
